Samsung’s PNB450 Plasma televisions are part of the cheap 720P offerings by Samsung this year. Their emphasis is on price as a 720P set (the rest of Samsung’s 2009 plasmas are FullHD 1080p models) yet compared to the rest of the 720P market this year, they have managed to outclass and outperform the vast majority of 720p models from other manufacturers. New E-panel technology along with FilterBright anti-glare tech, mega contrast and the wide color enhancer combine to give this year’s 4-series Samsung Plasma an incredible picture at a really low price. Deeper black levels, more precise and clear detailing, more natural and accurate color response and more give the 42-inch Samsung PN42B450 Plasma and the 50-inch Samsung PN50B450 Plasma one of the best rated and reviewed picture quality and performances of all current 720P plasma HDTVs.

Below is a quick comparison of the PNB450 versus the other 2009 Samsung Plasmas. Note that only the 4-series is a 720P and as such the comparison is a little meaningless for those shoppers that have decided the price saving of 720p over 1080p is the factor they are looking for.
Compare B450 vs. B550 plasma
This is pretty simple really, with the PNB450 series being quite similar Samsung PNB550 Plasma lineup in all areas except for the obvious differences that the B550 is capable of 1080p FullHD output, and has some more advanced tech and features making the picture quality and performance of a much better quality. The Samsung PN-B550 Plasma series is available in the 50 inch PN50B550 – 58 inch PN58B550 plasma and 63 inch PN63B550 Plasma variations offering two larger options but 1 less small option than the PN-B450 series.
Compare PNB450 vs. PNB560 plasma
Again very similar to the above B550 description, although the Samsung PNB560 Plasma series units contain a feature call Cinema Smooth which boosts refresh to integrate smoothly with contents native frame rate, resulting in better, crisper and smoother detail and action in content shot at 24fps like Blu-Ray movies. The PNB590 sub-family of the 5-series isn’t any different really from the B560… only it contains a single size in the huge 63-inch Samsung PN63B590 and has been noted to have a darker filter than other B550 and B560 models resulting in some beneficial picture difference.

The high-end 8 Series Samsung PNB860 plasma televisions are again very similar to the above B650 description… Increasing picture quality, adding internet and multimedia features, and its key difference over the Samsung PN-B650 models is its design. The 8-series is a new ‘UltraThin’ design concept from Sammy, at only 1.1 inches in depth it is the thinnest plasma of its kind, and one of the highest rated with top-of-the line picture quality and performance ever found on a Plasma HDTV. The PN-B860 Plasma line-up consists of the smaller 50-inch PN50B860 plasma hdtv and the larger 58-inch variation of the Samsung PN58B860 HDTV model.
