Pros noted in Sony KDL40W4100 Reviews:

The Sony W4100 Series has been climbing up the charts and quickly has became one of the most popular and talked about options in the 1080P, 120hZ, full featured LCD realm… Available in several sizes (The 52 inch KDL52W4100, 46 inch KDL46W4100 and 40 inch KDL40W4100) are all top 3 sellers in their respective size ranges, and they all have been receiving great review scores and feedback. Below are some of the more commonly reported strengths and pros from customer Sony KDL52W4100 Reviews online:

  • Picture: While not quite as nice at high end as the XBR (xbr6,xbr7, & xbr8 coming soon) or Z4100 series (available in two colors, silver and black on two sizes: 40inch KDL 40Z4100 & 46inch KDL 46Z4100) the Sony Bravia W4100 models still have better contrast ratio, clarity, and general picture quality as compared to similarly priced televisions from other manufacturers.
  • Price/Value: Recent price drops with the addition of the new flagship series makes the W4100 very price and value friendly.
  • Menus, Setup and Controls are all very user friendly, efficient, powerful and allow for a lot of customization to fit your individual tastes.
  • Sony’s Bravia clear screens are consistently stated in KDL W4100 reviews as simply superior to other brands. The clear panels allow for great natural color tones, big viewing angles, and aren’t as affected by reflection and glare as most others… and they still look sexy without that glossy look!
  • The Bravia engine as well as the 120 Hz refresh makes for some of the most natural and smooth action you can get on an LCD. The Bravia image processing keeps colors vibrant and realistic, while the 120 Hz reduces image blur / lag / ghosting…
  • Tons of little Pros and things that aren’t as important

Cons noted in Bravia KDL40W4100 Reviews:

Although the early Sony Bravia KDL40W4100 reviews and ratings, all the way up to the most recent, have for the most part all been very positive and shedding a great light on this product, there have been a couple of weaknesses and cons noted about the television in review feedback, some of the more common and significant cons of this LCD HDTV include:

  • White Sparkles: Some people have noticed that a line of white dots will appear seemingly randomly for a split second near the top of the display, a complaint Sony recognizes and is wide spread amongst its lcds
  • Heat: The Sony KDL-40W4100 will dissipate a lot of heat after long periods of usage; you can feel it as you walk by say some. More of a problem on the larger screens in the series (Bravia KDL46W4100 & Bravia KDL52W4100 – 46 and 52 inches respectively)
  • Sound: Not bad at all, but definitely not great either. Can get better sound after tweaking and setup through the menus, but still won’t be as glorious as the visuals so might want to buy a sound system if have the cash.
  • V series: If you don’t plan on using your television that often, if you don’t watch sports, play games or watch lots of movies… you might want to consider the cheaper V4100 series (available in 40-inch KDL40V4100 ~ 46-inch KDL46V4100 ~ 52-inch KDL52V4100 sizes) from Sony. The only significant downgrades here for the price cut is the 120hz to 60hz change, which won’t mean much to you if you are only a very casual watcher and the extra savings could pay for a 5.1 speaker setup to negate the above con

“If You Are Looking for Best Price & Features: Look No More!!!” sony kdl40w4100 Review By C. M. Bradley “CMB”

Sony Bravia W4100 Series has the best features for a tv in this price range. I too looked at the Samsung A650 but am glad I went the Sony. The remote on the sony is more intuitive, plus I didn’t want the glass screen for the room I was going to use it in has a window facing the tv. The picture is amazing and the 120 hz is nice feature (I use it on standard mode not High)The Cinema Motion is great. The tv looks good in HD and Standard Definition and the picture looks…

“Awesome TV, great value for money” kdl40w4100 Review By Manish Rastogi “Manish”

“I’ve had my 40W4100 for 3 weeks now. I researched, researched and researched until I was worn out. I had narrowed my selections down to this or Samsung. I didn’t like the TOC or gloss screen of the Samsung (my den has alot of glare during the day) so I decided on the Sony. And boy am I glad I did! This TV just blows me away! I have everything connected HDMI (Dish Network HD 221, PS3 and Onkyo 606 receiver). You will NOT be disappointed. You would not believe the WOW factor from my friends when they see…

” A W E S O M E” Sony Bravia KDL40w4100 Review HDTV By S. Cooper

Okay I really have no idea about these sort of things. I had to do a little research before spend that much money on a TV. I asked my very knowledgeable brother who recommended this as one of 15 TVs to look at. I went to Best Buys to see some of the models in action and liked the quality of this model but it was not what I wanted to spend and they would not price match off of a website. So I went to Amazon and found a great deal and free shipping from OneCall. Not to mention that OneCall was fast and easy to deal with. I could not tell you the specs of this TV but the picture and sound are (wait for it) awesome. I put in the Matrix after a relatively easy set up just to see, and there was…

“amazing with rabbit ears!” Sony KDL 40w4100 LCD Review By Gerald G. Knapton

Since we live so close to Mt. Wilson where the major stations have broadcast antennas we thought we would try it with a basic Terk rabbit ear antenna and it is just amazing! Gets over 60 digital channels and even the on-air program guide works to give us a list of what is available at listed hours. Set up was a snap and the clarity is stunning. Sound is very good. Our friends who have cable or satellite don’t believe that we…
