I bought the Samsung PN63A650 plasma television after spending a whole lot of time researching the absolute best televisions in the 55+ arena. There wasn’t too much information around the internet or in technical magazines, nor really any expert Samsung PN63A650 reviews but looking over the specifications of the other Samsung series 6 plasma televisions, I concluded that the PN-63A650 only really differed from the other series-6 plasmas in size, with the PN58A650 and PN50A650 plasmas only being smaller versions. Based on that I read tons of Samsung PN58A650 and PN50A650 reviews and found lots of the customers, experts and technical freaks scattered on the web to have a general consensus that the Samsung Series6 Plasmas were the ideal solution for what I was looking for.

I have only had this TV for a about a week now, and I’m not exactly what you would call a technical or electrical genius, so I can’t really go into all those high tech details that other reviewers go into, but I can give my general impression on its strengths and weaknesses that will possibly perhaps other shoppers make a definitive choice if this is a good HDTV for them until a more in-depth and technical expert report becomes available for this really new television.

Samsung PN63A650′s Picture Quality

Early tests from some expert calibrators stated that the 63-inch Samsung PN63A650 Plasma has some of the best black levels available on Plasma to date, I don’t really know all that fancy black-level stuff to verify this statement, but I must say that the picture quality is truly gorgeous. One of the most noticeable improvements I have seen besides just the much better overall picture, is when I’m watching sports or playing games, where my old television seemed to smudge across the screen like the display couldn’t keep up with the image speed. Everyone that has watched anything in 1080p mode on this television has also commented on how brilliant the picture quality is.

Design and Appearance of PN63A650

Well obviously the first thing you will notice is how big this thing is, as 63 inches is definitely a very large television for most people; be prepared for a little shock for a lasting while unless you have previously owned something around 63? before. The next thing I noticed out of the box was its thinness, amazingly thin compared to our old ‘DLP’ television, and really is much better that way and adds space to your room. The smooth finished jet black color of samsung’s pn63a650 design is very attractive, and I don’t think I have seen a much better looking television to date; the new Samsung hdtvs appearance is just simply the best in my opinion.

The Samsung PN63A650 sounds amazing and crisp, I did read another Samsung PN63A650 review earlier that said the sound was subpar compared to other such plasmas, but I will have to disagree there, I really like some of the sound features that you can turn on from the menu and remote control as well, and played around with it for a while and found the sound to be even nicer and to my taste after doing so, perhaps that’s what the other review of the Samsung PN63a650 plasma was missing when they said the sound wasn’t that great.

Overall General Impressions of the Samsung PN63A650

I couldn’t possibly be more pleased with the Samsung PN63A650 Plasma television, I was quite nervous and anxious awaiting its delivery scared that it wouldn’t live up to the acclaim of the other highly rated PNA650 televisions, but those woes of spending a bunch of money on a product I was nervous I might not absolutely love completely faded away right after I saw and used the PN-63A650 for the first time. It is an enormous(literally)ly well performing, gorgeous and brilliant HDTV, and I would recommend this as the one to get for anyone looking for a 60+” display.
