After a long while of research and reading reviews, I finally decided that the Samsung PN58A550 Plasma HDTV was the one I would buy, considering the Samsung PN58A650 plasma as the only real alternative, but overall choosing the A550 because it was a slightly cheaper price and we didn’t need the extra bells and whistles. When you compare samsung pn58a550 vs PN58A650 side by side, you have a hard decision, a few extra features future proofs the PNA650, while the PNA550 offers a good price savings if your not a hardcore user, movie buff or video gamer.

All the Samsung PN58A650 and PN58A550 reviews online talked about how this was a wickedly awesome picture and price for this size, and how you really couldn’t go wrong with either or, and I am happy to report myself now after having watched a couple high definition blue ray movies on it, I understand why other reviewers make sure a big deal about these massive plasmas. It is rather large too, we bought this TV to put in the bedroom for late night television and movies when we were getting ready for bed, and although we are very far away from it at almost 14 feet away, this thing still impresses in size and clarity, I think now that anything less than 58inches at this distance would’ve been a disappointment, and I don’t think we could possibly go back to the old 42inch LCD setup we previously had even if we were forced too.

Pretty amazed by online purchase on such large & costly item…

We were very reluctant to buy such a huge 58” television online, especially considering we were investing nearly $3000 into it and would have to take a big leap of faith on shipping and delivery, but with such a large price savings online, we put some faith into Amazon.com’s reputation and all the PN58A550 and HDTV reviews on amazon had mostly nothing but amazing things to say about their white glove delivery option.

Flawless in most every way – Television, Setup & Delivery…

Television arrived ahead of schedule, was setup no problems and we have been enjoying it ever since… Absolute best investment in entertainment we have ever made, its huge, the picture truly has to be seen to be believed, and I just spent 10 minutes trying to think of a negative flaw of the Sammy PN 58A550 Plasma to make future customers aware of, but am unable to say anything bad about the whole experience and product!
