Samsung’s second generation 58” Plasma had a lot to live up to, following the huge success, ratings and raving reviews of its little brother the Samsung PN58A550, shoppers would need a strong reason to step up and spend a little bit more cash over a television that was already virtually untouchable at its price range for a 58” plasma. The PN58A650 (6th series, plasma, 58inch) does have some noticeable feature upgrades and additions, but nothing that really sets it apart from the PN58A550 TV, but at the same time Samsung made a smart move and kept the price very low and competitive for those upgrades, making the PN58A650 unit incredibly attractive for a quality/value standpoint for shoppers in the market for a huge brilliant screen.

PN58A650’s Picture Quality…

This television has some of the deepest black levels found on this size/price of plasma, and absolutely makes the closest competition look lousy when you compare similar televisions at 58 inches, at this price and with this set of features / add-ons. Black levels are the primary requirement for picture quality and definition

Monstrous Size

Coming in at 58-inches and weighing 140lbs, this television is an absolute beast of a machine, sure to turn heads and strike awe into its viewers with its massive and incredibly detailed high quality images. Some say 58” is too big, and if you’re sitting less than 8 feet away from this thing it simply will be, it’s huge!

Not Cheap but great Value

We’re not saying this thing is cheap, but if you look at the Samsung PN58A650 Plasma HDTVs competition on the market right now, you absolutely get what you pay for, and much more at that then you would choosing a similarly speced and performing HDTV from a competing brand. Samsung has really came out of nowhere the last couple of years to offer a much more solid product at a cheaper price, hence why they are simply outselling all the other major television brands for the last 1-2 years by large margins.
